Internet Addiction, Phubbing, Psychological Variables and Self-Perception of Mathematical Competence in College Students

Internet Addiction (IA) and phubbing are prevalent, disruptive behaviours among university students. The aim of this study was to explore the relationship between IA Phubbing with psychological variables (impulsiveness, self-esteem, distress), academic performance self-perception mathematical competence (SMC), as well possible gender differences. Results showed (n = 715; Mean Age 21.7) differences in lack planning, emotional investment somatisation correlated positively app addiction, mobile psychopathology. A total 26.3% can be explained by a self-control, time management, phone anxiety distress. Finally, 71% students believe that use new technologies has worsened their SMC is impaired communication, obsession phones, (Total Scale) impulsiveness. Our results indicate importance taking into account affect development IA, phubbing, population.
